The idea & objective

Why CHARGE exists

CHARGE, the Center for Health AI Risk, Governance and Ethics, is an independent thought-leadership community of thousands of health-system leaders. Grid Health was built in direct response to what they deal with in production.

CHARGE — Center for Health AI Risk, Governance and Ethics

Clinical AI is being deployed faster than anyone is governing it. The people accountable for that, Chief AI Officers, CISOs, CMIOs, and the clinicians on the floor, are making high-stakes decisions with little shared evidence and few neutral places to compare notes.

CHARGE exists to close that gap. We interview the leaders actually governing AI inside health systems, publish field research on what holds up in production, and maintain the working directory of healthcare Chief AI Officers. We report and convene. We do not sell.

What independence means here

01

Published on our own terms

No vendor pitches, no product placement. Findings stand on their own.

02

Sourced from real deployments

Evidence comes from live health-system practice, anonymized where needed.

03

Peer to peer

Leader to leader. The audience is the field, not a buyer.

04

Open to the community

Any qualifying CAIO can join the directory or contribute.

CHARGE is an independent editorial publication. It is built and supported by Grid Health, the AI operations platform health systems use to monitor models, detect drift, and govern AI in production.
